Check an Email Now

To check a suspicious email, simply click the forward button in your email software and send it to . Within a few minutes you will receive a response back informing you of the validity of the email and whether or not it can be trusted.

The best way to forward the email to us is as an attachment. If you are not sure how to do that, you can read our quick help article

What type of email should I check?

The type of email you should always check through phishfraud.com are (1) those that direct you to click a link to log-in to a website that asks for personal information or (2) those that threaten a certain type of action (such as restricting your account) if you do not respond in a timely manner.  For example, emails that appear to be from your bank, credit card company, paypal, ebay or any other financial institution should be treated with extreme care and attention.

Your Security & Privacy

It is completely safe to forward your email to phishfraud.com since banks and phishers never put personally identifiable information into your email.  If you do see personally identifiable information in the email you would like to check, such as your account number, social security number, credit card number or other private information, we suggest you contact the institution via a telephone number obtained from their website (not from the email) immediately for two reasons: (1) If the email is from a phisher and this information is already in their hands, you may already be at risk; (2) If your bank is placing this information into the email, you should request that they immediately stop because it is not a safe practice and puts you at risk. If the only personally identifiable information is your email address, then you can forward it to us.

Please note that phishfraud.com and Netriplex, LLC do not store the content of any emails you forward for checking. Email content is scanned against our global database, and after a determination is made it is discarded. We do store your email address so that we can send a response to you and update you from time-to-time on new anti-phishing services.  You can remove your email from our database at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.
